On crisp fall mornings, this nutty homemade granola is just the ticket. I love to sprinkle it on some greek yogurt or have it with a little bit of macadamia milk, but it’s also great on its own as a snack. My kids love store-bought granola, but with all the added sugar, I don’t like them to eat it very often. This nutty homemade granola uses honey and agave for sweetener and the nuts add some healthy fat and protein, and they gobble it up especially when I add some chocolate chips.
This nutty granola will take you less than 5 minutes to whip up. Switch up the ingredients and use whatever you have in your cupboard too. I use dates for sweetness and then toss in pumpkin seeds and a mixture of walnuts and pecans. That’s it! I use organic quick cooking oats but you could also use spelt flakes if you’d rather. The spelt will be a little firmer than the granola, but it’s a great option if you don’t eat oats.
I hope you enjoy this granola and mix up the ingredients and make it your own. My favorite part of this recipe is the dates. I love dates! What about you?
